16 Naxalites surrender in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur

Sixteen Naxalites surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, citing disillusionment with Maoist ideology and atrocities against tribals. These lower-rung cadres, from various units, supported the insurgency by supplying resources and assisting in operations. They revealed exploitation by top leaders, who mislead locals with false promises while treating cadres as slaves. Each received Rs 50,000 and will be rehabilitated under government policy.
