AIADMK leader, former MP Maitreyan joins DMK

In a political shift, former MP V Maitreyan resigned from the AIADMK and joined the DMK in Chennai on Wednesday, welcomed by Chief Minister MK Stalin. Consequently, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami expelled Maitreyan from the party. Maitreyan joined the DMK at 'Anna Arivalayam' in the presence of key DMK leaders.
