An Alabama city council overrules its mayor and brings its city clerk back to work

An embattled city clerk may return to work after council members refused to support her suspension by the mayor. The Tarrant City Council Thursday evening overruled the four-day suspension of City Clerk Laverne Knight that was given last week by Mayor Tracie Threadford.
