Bangladesh asks India to hand over Sheikh Hasina, former minister Kamal

Bangladesh has requested India to hand over former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and ex-Interior Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. Both were sentenced to death for their involvement in last year's crackdown on student protests. Sheikh Hasina has been residing in India since fleeing the country. Dhaka asserts that an extradition treaty obliges New Delhi to comply with this request.
