Can India make filing taxes as easy as a phone recharge? CoinSwitch’s Ashish Singhal thinks it should

Ashish Singhal, co-founder of CoinSwitch, has questioned if Indias salaried class and startup workers are really using the new tax regimes higher liquidity to build better money habits. He points out only 6.7 percent filed tax returns last year, despite better digital systems. Many still wait till the last moment. Singhal wants smarter tools, pre-filled forms and nudges to make tax filing part of everyday finance, not a yearly panic. Habits, he warns, must change too.
