Centre plans first nationwide Household Income Survey in 2026; MoSPI sets up expert panel

India is set to conduct its first full-scale household income distribution survey in 2026, overseen by a newly formed Technical Expert Group (TEG) chaired by Dr. Surjit S. Bhalla.
