China the world's biggest plastic producer

A recent study by Eunomia and Zero Carbon Analytics reveals that seven countries produce two-thirds of the most common plastics, with China leading significantly. China alone accounts for 34% of the production of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene terephthalate, and polystyrene in 2024, surpassing the combined output of the next six countries.
