Conroe firefighters go beyond the call to rescue downed horse

Firefighters in Conroe assisted in the rescue of a horse that had been unable to stand for several hours Monday morning. According to the Conroe Fire Department, a resident walked into Fire Station 5 on Jan. 26 to report that a 35-year-old horse nearby had been down since approximately 5:30 a.m. and could not get back onto its feet. Firefighters from Ladder 1 were called in to assist, along with a veterinarian and a nurse.
