ED freezes deposits worth Rs 523 crore in probe against online gaming platforms WinZo, Gameskraft

The Enforcement Directorate has frozen Rs 523 crore in deposits belonging to online gaming firms WinZO and Gameskraft. These companies allegedly held player funds instead of refunding them after India banned real-money gaming. The agency conducted searches and accused the platforms of engaging in criminal activities and unscrupulous practices. Funds were frozen under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
