EU needs deals with India, others to reduce dependency on US, von der Leyen says

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Thursday said the EU aims to finalise a trade deal with India this year to reduce dependencies amid rising U.S. tariffs. She noted Prime Minister Narendra Modis commitment to the pact during a recent call. Talks are also underway with South Africa, Malaysia, the UAE, and others.
