Federal judge rules that the US government must release Columbia University protester Mahmoud Khalil
Khalil, a legal US resident, has been in custody since March 8, when federal immigration agents arrested him in his New York apartment building. US District Judge Michael Farbiarz argued that Khalil's continued detention has caused irreparable harm to his career, to his family and to his free speech rights.
