FY25 thermal power target missed by a wide margin
FY25 thermal capacity addition fell short at 4.53 GW versus the 15.4 GW target, with most projects delayed. Only 6 of 22 planned units were commissioned. With peak demand rising to 250 GW, plans to add 80 GW thermal capacity by 2032 require immediate execution and approvals.
