GPMI is coming: The new tech that could replace HDMI, DisplayPort, and Thunderbolt

A new tech called General Purpose Media Interface or GPMI is here. Over 50 Chinese companies created it. Hisense, Skyworth, and TCL are involved. GPMI could replace HDMI and others. It supports 8K video and reduces cable clutter. Two types exist, Type-C and Type-B. Type-C works with USB-C. GPMI is faster and more powerful. Some companies are already using GPMI.
