Hurdles persist for class action lawsuits

Despite being on the statute book for nearly a decade, class action lawsuits under Section 245 of the Companies Act, 2013 remain difficult to invoke in India due to high eligibility thresholds, procedural hurdles and funding constraints, though recent tribunal orders signal a more receptive approach to minority shareholder claims.
