IMD raises rain forecast to 106%

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has revised its monsoon forecast for 2025, predicting 106% of the Long Period Average rainfall. While the monsoon arrived early, the IMD will measure rainfall from June to September. Above-normal rainfall is expected in central and southern India, with potential benefits for agriculture but also risks of flooding and disruptions.
