Imperial Couple Arrives in Mongolia to Meet with President, Mourn Japanese Who Died in Internment

The Emperor and Empress departed from Haneda Airport on a government plane Sunday morning for an official state visit to Mongolia. This marks their third overseas visit for international goodwill since the Reiwa era began, following trips to Indonesia and the United Kingdom. It is also the first time a reigning emperor and empress have visited Mongolia.
