India conducts maiden flight-trials of stratospheric airship platform

India successfully conducted the first flight trials of a stratospheric airship platform developed by the DRDO in Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh. Launched to an altitude of 17 kms, the airship aims to enhance India's surveillance capabilities. The system will uniquely enhance India's earth observation and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.
