India performed record 18,900 organ transplants in 2024: J P Nadda

India saw a record 18,900 organ transplants in 2024, said Union Health Minister J P Nadda. This placed India third globally. Nadda spoke at an event by the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation. He highlighted the gap between those needing organs and available donors. Over 3.30 lakh citizens pledged their organs since 2023.
