The office of the US defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, requested “a passive approach to Juneteenth messaging”. Juneteenth was named a federal holiday four years ago under then-President Joe Biden. The message said that the office wasnt planning to publish Juneteenth-related content on the Pentagons website, according to a report. Hegseth has continued to espouse anti-DEI talking points.
