India’s headline indices failed to carry Monday’s momentum today and ended with declines. Nifty fell 0.3% on the back of selling pressure in energy, bank and IT stocks. The index traded with a negative bias throughout the day, remaining below the 50 EMA. Commenting on the day’s action, Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities said that the index is comfortably placed below the 50 EMA on the daily chart. “The current range is 24,400–24,850, and in the short term, the index is likely to remain within this band.
