Mumbai on red alert: Govt, semi-govt offices to remain shut; BMC issues WFH advisory to private firms

Due to a red alert and continuous extremely heavy rainfall, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has ordered all government and semi-government offices in Mumbai to remain closed on August 19, 2025. The order follows a second consecutive day of disrupted life and work in the city. BMC has also requested private offices to allow their employees to work from home.
