No more decade-long wait: India eyes stealth 5th-gen stealth drone fighter to strike enemy air defences and save pilots' lives

India's DRDO is testing the indigenous Kaveri jet engine in Russia, eyeing its use in a long-range UCAV, while HAL develops the CATS Warrior, an unmanned wingman drone. The CATS Warrior, unveiled at Aero India 2025, will support manned fighters in high-risk missions, enhancing India's aerial defense capabilities and reducing reliance on foreign suppliers.
