Nvidia to invest up to $100bn in OpenAI

Nvidia has revealed plans to invest up to $100bn (£74bn) in OpenAI in return for a large stake in ChatGPT's owner. It is understood that, under the plans, Nvidia will buy non-voting shares in OpenAI later this year. OpenAI can then use this cash to buy Nvidia's chips - vital for the additional processing power it wants as part of the frenzied drive for additional data centre capacity.
