Only 9.5% of Indian households invest despite 63% market awareness: Sebi survey

SEBIs Investor Survey 2025, conducted with AMFI, NSE, BSE, NSDL, and CDSL, reveals a stark gap in Indias investment landscape. While 63% of households—around 213 million—are aware of at least one securities market product, only 9.5%, or about 32.1 million households, actively participate, highlighting the need for greater financial literacy, simpler investment platforms, and increased trust in markets.
