Rural Minnesota manufacturing program hit by federal cuts

Enterprise Minnesota is part of the manufacturing extension partnership (MEP) program, receiving a federal grant each year to help rural manufacturers and small businesses. The U.S. Department of Commerce sent out a letter that it would be shifting the funds for this program to emerging technologies, which means Enterprise Minnesota would have to cut the program and concentrate on urban counties.
