Russia urges India and Pakistan to honour Simla Accord, resolve tensions peacefully after Pahalgam attack

Following the terror attack in Pahalgam, Russia has called on India and Pakistan to settle disputes through political dialogue based on the 1972 Simla Agreement and the 1999 Lahore Declaration. In a phone call with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed concern over rising tensions. India, meanwhile, has responded with diplomatic measures against Pakistan, including trade and visa restrictions. The attack has triggered global condemnation, while bilateral cooperation between New Delhi and Moscow remains on track.
