SC gives Centre four weeks to respond to pleas on restoration of Jammu & Kashmir statehood

The Supreme Court has granted the Centre four weeks to file its response regarding pleas for restoring Jammu and Kashmir's statehood. The court is hearing multiple petitions pressing for the Centre's assurance to reinstate statehood at the earliest. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta stated consultations are ongoing with the Jammu and Kashmir administration.
