The unshakable friendship of Nan Goldin and David Armstrong

Inseparable since meeting as teenagers in Boston, Goldin and Armstrong began documenting New York's underground scene in the late 1970s. Together, they faced addiction and the devastation of AIDS, maintaining an intense artistic relationship until Armstrong's death in 2014. This summer, their work is on display in Arles, southern France.
