UP schools to be shutdown from 16 to 23 July: What parents need to know

Schools in several Uttar Pradesh districts including Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Varanasi, Bareilly and Badaun will close temporarily due to the Kanwar Yatra and its impact on traffic and safety. In Haryanas Hisar district, over 10,000 private schools will remain shut for a day in protest over a school principals murder. Local administrations say the closures are needed to protect students and ensure public order as thousands of Kanwariyas move through major pilgrimage routes this Shravan month.
