Uttarakhand: Outsiders can't buy farmland in 11 out of 13 districts

Uttarakhand has new land laws. Governor Gurmit Singh approved a bill. It restricts people from other states buying agricultural land. This applies to 11 districts. Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar are exceptions. The government aims to protect resources and culture. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami supports the law. He says it prevents uncontrolled land sales.
