World leaders rally behind Palestinian statehood at UN, defying US and Israel

World leaders met at the United Nations to support Palestine. France will recognize Palestine. Israel opposes this move. The United States also boycotted the meeting. Several other countries are expected to recognize Palestine soon. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas wants full U.N. membership. The U.S. warns against actions against Israel.
