Yemen’s Houthi rebels release video claiming to show attack on cargo ship in Red Sea

Yemen's Houthi rebels have released a video of what it alleges to be militants boarding a vessel in the Red Sea, following back to back attacks on cargo ships on Sunday (6 July). In footage shared by the group’s media wing on Tuesday (8 July), a group of masked individuals can be seen entering a ship they claim to be HMV Magic Seas with guns. A later clip shows what appears to be an explosion on board the ship, with large black plumes quickly rising to the sky. The group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Independent cannot independently verify dates, locations or conditions of footage. On Sunday, another attack suspected to have been carried out by Yemen’s Houthi group took place on Liberian-flagged cargo ship Eternity C. Three sailors were killed and two wounded.
